An object undergoing simple harmonic motion takes 0.19 s to travel from one point of zero velocity to the next such point. The distance between those points is 41 cm. Calculate (a) the period, (b) the frequency, and (c) the amplitude of the motion.

Answer:

Say the object travels from to -A to +A

It will have zero velocity at both points

a) P = 2 * .19 s = .38 sec

b) f = 1 / P = 2.63 sec

c) A (amplitude) = ± A = .41 cm / 2 = 20.5 cm
