The art teacher is buying new tables to go in the art room. Each table can seat 4 students. The art class has 30 students. How many total tables does the art teacher need to buy so that each student has a place to sit when they come to art class?

Answer:

T = 7.5

Explanation:

One table = 4 students

? table = 30 students

To get the answer we criss-cross

30 * 1 = 4T(amount of table)

4T = 30

T = 30/4

T = 7.5

There should be 8 tables but the last table has 2 people sitting on it rather than 4.
