m = (y2-y1)/(x2-x1)

Where m = slope

From the two points we are given:

(2, -1) -----> x1 = 2 , y1 = -1

(2,5) -----> x2 = 2 , y2 = 5

Plug these values into the slope formula and you get:


m = (y2-y1)/(x2-x1)

m =
(5 - (-1))/(2 - 2) =
(5 + 1)/(0) = (6)/(0) = ∞

This means that the slope m = ∞. In other words, there is no slope or gradient because the line is vertical.
