Ilse has hired a construction crew to renovate her kitchen. They charge $3.42 per square foot for materials and $121.88 per day of labor. Ilse spent $2,820.94 on the renovation. If the number of square feet is 202 more than the number of days it took for the renovation, how long did the renovation take?

Answer:

17 days

Explanation:

So x stands for the days:
3.42 per sqft

121.88 per day of labor

2820.94 total

202+x=square feet

121.88x+3.42(x+202)=2,820.94

125.3x+690.84=2,820.94

125.3x=2130.1

x=17

So 17 days would be the answer

-E
