the answer is likely 12


area of triangle = 1/2 base•height

so the base of top triangle is 4, 4 times the height 3 is 12. half of 12 is 6.

then the base of each bottom triangle is 2 because it's half of 4. the height is 3 so 2*3 is 6. half of 6 is 3.

3•2 (there are two triangles) is 6.

6+6=12
