Answer: 28

Explanation:

Given: First group received 28 baseball cards and second group received 84 baseball cards.

Total cards= 28+84 =112

If each person entering the stadium received the same number , the greatest number of baseballs cards they could have received = G.C.D. (28,84,112)

[G.C.D. = greatest common divisor]

Since the prime factorization of 28 , 84 and 112 are as follows

28 = 2 x 2 x7

84 = 2 x 2 x 3 x 7

112 = 2 x 2 x 2 x 2 x 7

G.C.D (28, 84, 112 )= 2 x 2 x7 = 28

The greatest number of baseballs cards they could have received = 28
