An angle measures 6° more than the measure of its complementary angle. What is the measure of each angle?

42° and 48°

Explanation:

Complementary angles add up to 90°.

So we have one angle x and the other angle x+6 which when added together will equal 90°.

x + x + 6 = 90

2x + 6 = 90

-6 - 6

2x = 84

Divide both sides by 2

2x/2 = 84/2

x = 42

So one angle = 42°, and the other angle = 42° + 6° = 48°.
