so, she had x boxes, she bought 7 (that's addition) and then half of those boxes (that's division) got destroyed in the fire and she has 22 left (that's your total).

you can write the equation like this:

(x+7)/2 = 22

then, you solve

(x+7) = 44

x = 37

she originally had 37 boxes

58 boxes at first I got this by adding 22+7 which is 29 then multiplied two since it said half got destroyed and 29x2 is 58. So then I did 58/2 which us 29 minus the 7 she brought which is 22 and she has 22 left! I hope you understand lol
