As you read in “The Declaration of Independence” (textbook pages 43-47), Jefferson expressed a list of grievances.

PROMPT: Pick ONE grievance to discuss, and complete the following 1-4:

State the grievance you chose (“quote it” from the Declaration)
Rewrite that grievance in your own words (1-2 sentences)
Discuss the significance of that grievance. (1-2 sentences)
Apply: What kinds of grievances might a teenager have against someone in authority? Write 1 sentence that states this grievance. Your sentence should match the style of the grievances found in the Declaration of Independence.


The list of grievances can be found on pages 44, 45 and 46 of your textbook (most grievances start with phrase “He has”—[King George] has . . .)
