Read the paragraph. Kate and Josiah were seated at a card table, putting together a giant puzzle. Kate was working on one corner while Josiah pieced together a different corner. Although neither said so, each girl was trying to outdo the other to complete the largest portion of the puzzle. Kate decided to take a break. When she stood up, she accidently bumped the table. Josiah’s pieces all fell to the floor. Josiah was so angry, she swiped her arm across Kate’s portion and puzzle pieces flew everywhere. Kate’s mom was watching from the other room. “What a shame. Now you will both have to start all over. Two wrongs don’t make a right.” What is the meaning of the adage in the paragraph? By working together, people can complete tasks more quickly and efficiently. Although at times friends may disagree, they should never treat each other with anger or disrespect. It is important to be able to admit to mistakes when one makes them. The fact that someone has done something unfair or upsetting does not justify acting in a similar way.
