Explanation:

speed = distance/time

distance = speed × time.

so, for the first 4 hours

distance = 60 m/h × 4 h = 240 miles

and for the next hour

distance = 40 m/h × 1 h = 40 miles

she traveled therefore

240 + 40 = 280 miles
