- The different in average temperature makes different varieties of organisms able to thrive.

- Humans have to adapt to different terrain (such as open field and open water)

After the last ice age, humans started to scatter all across the globe in an effort to find enough resources that can sustain their community. Each place that they settled in possess different environment for them. Because of this, Humans started to learn to use tools to extract the available resources in their new living area.

For example, if they settled in area with a lot of forests, humans started to develop tools such as axes to cut down the foods and create shelter. If they settled in area with near the sea, they use the tools to create boats that enable them to fish.
