Choose the algebraic description that maps the image ΔABC onto ΔA′B′C′.

(x,y) → (x + 1,y)

(x,y) → (x,y + 1)

(x,y) → (x – 1,y)

(x,y) → (x,y – 1)

Answer:

(x,y) → (x – 1,y)

Explanation:

took the test :))

Each of the vertices needs to move one unit towards the left to map the image ΔABC onto ΔA′B′C′. This can be represented by the algebraic description (x,y) → (x – 1,y).

the answer would be (x,y) —> (x-1,y). the reasoning being that all of the points on the x axis move to the left by one unit, and all points on the y axis stay the same.
