So to find x you would do:

x = 180 - 118 = 62

Also the angle sum of a triangle = 180 degrees.

Since it is an isosceles triangle, the bottom two angles would be equal:

Angle sum of triangle = 180

x + x + y = 180

Since we know x = 62, substitute it into the above equation:

62 + 62 + y = 180

124 + y = 180

Subtract 124 from both sides to solve for y.

y = 180 - 124

y = 56

x = 62

62+62+y = 180

y = 56
