b = -3/4
Explanation:
Solving exponents
a)
(x^1/2)^1/3 = x^a
x^(1/2*1/3) = x^a
x^1/6 = x^a
a = 1/6
b)
1/(x^3)^1/4 = x^b
1/x^(3*1/4) = x^b
1/x^(3/4) = x^b
x^-(3/4) = x^b
b = -3/4
