Talia is arguing with her grandmother about school and grades. Talia wants to take an elective
Cosmetology class, but her grandmother thinks it is a waste of time because it won't help Talia get into a
prestigious 4-year college. Talia is just interested in learning how to do contour makeup so she can do
her friends' makeup for prom.
Grandmother: 'This is silly! If you take that class, no college will ever take you seriously! You'll end up
with no degree and living on the streets!"
Talia: "You're being so dramatic! I'm still taking AP English, my GPA is good, and I'm in 3 clubs! Besides,
being a cosmetologist would be a good job!"
