Explanation:

length = x

width = 2x-8

b.) to get the area you need to multiply the length and the width.

l×w= area

x(2x-8)

2x^2-8x

c.) 2x^2-8x = 10

subtract 10 both sides

2x^2-8x-10 = 0

2(x^2-4x-5) = 0

2(x-5)(x+1) = 0

x = 5

the area would be 10.
