The men sat on one side of the Church, whilst the women sat on the other. Young boys were not allowed to sit with their parents, but they all sat together with any of the other male children in a designated area. All the children had to sit in silence when in Church as to not disturb, disrupt or disrespect passing Puritan's at the service. The servants and slaves had to crowd all around the door, balcony and, sometimes, in a nearby loft, while the uper classes sat near the front row of the Church.
