Great Britain restricted trade on the colonists (Navigation Acts) Britain also practiced Mercantilism which basically exploited the colonists raw goods to be sent Britain to be manufactured.
After the French and Indian war Great Britain enforced taxes on the colonies, Such as the Stamp Act and the Sugar Act. Making colonists pay more for goods that were cheaper. (taxes were put on the colonists without their knowledge)
Colonists were technically British citizens but had no say in what laws or acts would be passed. (Taxation without Representation)
Great Britain also made the colonists fight the French and Indian war for them to win over the Ohio River Valley, but would not allow the colonists to settle in the valley after with the Proclamation of 1763
