The brain has commisure on both sides of the brain, they cross opposite which creates chyamia. Chyamia causes movements from body movements on each side of the brain if you lose Chyamia you lose function over your movement. And why some people are right and left handed is due to the brain having two language hemispheres along language ability. The govern of language is located on the left side of the brain which tends to make people right handed while the right side tends to make you left handed. But, it is said that the brain might not be the reason you are left handed it might be from gene activity in the spinal cord when in the womb.

If you use your left hand the most you would get used to using it so most of the time your brain signal your cells, bones, and other forces that work together to move your left hand most of the time. It also goes the same if your right handed.
