Pls help it is due today?

To rent a certain meeting room, a college charges a reservation fee of $38 and an additional fee of $6.30 per hour. The math club wants to spend at most $88.40 on renting the meeting room.

What are the possible amounts of time for which they could rent the meeting room?

Use t for the number of hours the meeting room is rented and solve your inequality for t.

  • Rate of pay=$6.3/h

The equation is

  • y=38+6.3t

So

  • 38+6.3t=88.4
  • 6.3t=88.4-38
  • 6.3t=50.4
  • t=8

FOR 8 HOURS

Answer:

8 hours.

Step-by-step explanation:

An Equation can be created:

y = 38 + 6.30t ("t" denotes time taken in hours and "y" amount cost)

============

Solve for t, given amount cost: $88.40

38 + 6.30t = 88.40

6.30t = 88.40 - 38

6.30t = 50.4

t = 50.4/6.3

t = 8

So, they can use the meeting room for 8 hours.
