Write a system of linear equations that has (-4, 8) as the solution. Once you have made your system of equations, solve it algebraically to show that you do indeed get the solution (-4, 8).

1st equation: -4x+8y = 1

2nd equation: 8x - 4y = 1

These should work. Do the matrix-substitution combo method to see:

-4 8 1

.8 -4 -1

Reduce and and matrix-substitution combo:

1 0 -4

0 1 8

The reduced eckerd form of the matrix shows that the solutions are (-4, 8)

Therefore it -4x + 8u = 1 and 8x - 4y = 1 are the two equations for the system.
