Answer:

p = 6.77

Explanation:

p-1.7/3.9 = 5.2/4

First, you divide the numbers:

p-1.7/3.9 = 1.3

Then multiply all of the terms by the same value. That way you can eliminate the fraction denominators:

(39) p-1.7/39/10 = (39)(1.3)

Cancel out the multiplied terms that are in the denominator:

10 (p-1.7) = (39)(1.3)

Use the distrubutive property:

10p - 17 = (39)(1.3)

Multiply:

10p - 17 = 50.7

Add 17 to both sides:

10p - 17 + 17 = 50.7 + 17

Simplify:

10p = 67.7

Then divide both sides of the equation by the same term:

10p/10 = 67.7/10

Simplify by cancelling out the terms that are in both the numerator and denominator then divide the numbers:

p = 6.77

Ta-daaaa (random but I saw someone with a Gorou pfp answering this too lol)
