C— More like the other way around. Even though it was sort of a mutual bullying.

The Boston Massacre kickstarted a lot of the rage that lead to the Revolutionary War, the colonists were angry because of taxation without representation (which was one of the main reasons for the war in the first place,) and the colonies did declare Independence from Britain during the beginning of the war. So, logically, the answer has to be C.
