1) First, place out what is given:


4 - 7x>-5(4+x)

2) Distribute -5 to (4 + x)


4 - 7x > -20-5x

3) We want to get x by itself, so we need to move each term to their own side(s):

4 - 7x > - 20 - 5x

+20 + 7x > +20 +7x

---------------------------

24 > 2x

5) Divide both sides by 2


(24)/(2) > (2x)/(2)

6) Now that you have x alone, your answer is:


x < 12

(I changed the position of x which is why the sign turned around)
