Subtract xx from both sides.

2x+3-x=-42x+3−x=−4

2 Simplify 2x+3-x2x+3−x to x+3x+3.

x+3=-4x+3=−4

3 Subtract 33 from both sides.

x=-4-3x=−4−3

4 Simplify -4-3−4−3 to -7−7.

x=-7x=−7
