Do you feel like reading today -3-

A student found a grasshopper in their backyard and wanted to take it to school to show the teacher the next day. The student put the grasshopper in a sealed container overnight to keep it from hopping away. When the student opened the container the following day, the grasshopper was dead. Which best describes what organelle in the grasshopper’s cells was unable to perform properly for the grasshopper to stay alive as a result of being kept in a sealed container overnight?

A.The mitochondria were unable to undergo cellular respiration and could not produce energy for the cells to function.

B.The lysosomes were unable to remove waste from the cells

C.The cell membrane was unable to allow substances to enter and exit the cells.

D.The nucleus was unable to provide instructions for the other organelles in the cells.

Hi again!
Guess what the answer is A just like last time. The reason for this is air was cut so the mitochondria could not provide enough power. B doesnt make sense because the grass hopper can still waste. C also doesn’t make sense because being in a container doesn’t mean the membrane stops working.. and D well the nucleus is always running and nothing is stopping the grass hopper from thinking.

A. Trapping an organism in a environment with extremely limited air disabled cellular respiration aka giving cells the proper oxygen they need
