Answer:

n = 6

Explanation:

3n + 1 = 19

Subtracting 1 from both sides:

3n + 1 - 1 = 19 - 1

3n = 18

Dividing both sides by 3:

3n/3 = 18/3

Simplifying:

18/3 = 6

n = 6

Hope you learned from this answer!

Answer:

n = 6

Explanation:

Simplifying

3n + 1 = 19

Reorder the terms:

1 + 3n = 19

Solving

1 + 3n = 19

Solving for variable 'n'.

Move all terms containing n to the left, all other terms to the right.

Add '-1' to each side of the equation.

1 + -1 + 3n = 19 + -1

Combine like terms: 1 + -1 = 0

0 + 3n = 19 + -1

3n = 19 + -1

Combine like terms: 19 + -1 = 18

3n = 18

Divide each side by '3'.

n = 6

Simplifying

n = 6
