Explanation:

You do rise over run. That means you count up from the (-2, -1) point then get level with the other point (2, 1) And that should give a right triangle. Then count how many boxes are going up put that number on top. Then count how many boxes are going across and that number goes on bottom. You then get 2/4, but I simplified it to 1/2.

(1 + 1)/(2 + 2) =
(2)/(4)

The reason I added because it was 1 - - 1 or one minus negative 1 so two negatives make a positive same thing with the bottom it was 2 - - 2.
