1)U.S. citizens must comply with certain mandatory obligations, including: Obeying the law. Every U.S. citizen must obey federal, state and local laws, and pay the penalties that can be incurred when a law is broken.

2) One important responsibility is paying taxes. U.S. citizens need to pay takes and be responsible and ready for the consequences when you dont pay it. if you dont pay it the IRS obtains a legal claim to your property and assets and, after that, can even seize that property or garnish your wages . In the most serious cases, you can even go to jail for up to five years for committing tax evasion. So this is why you should pay your taxes and also why this is important to citizens.
