What is the value of 5(-3)?

Answer. -15
Explanation. We know that a positive multiplied by a negative (or vice versa) equals a negative. If it’s confusing, you can even take out the negative and add it at the end. Remember, 1 negative means the answer is negative, 2 negatives means the answer is positive, and two positives are just positive (this is used for multiplication and division ONLY). So, to solve, 5•3 is 15, and just make it negative, -15!
