Answer:

Pressure is the force per unit area pounded onto the surface of a container of a gas or liquid. It's interesting to notice that the units of pressure (force/area) are the same as the units of energy density (energy/volume). This gives rise to the interesting result that the pressure at the centers of stars that we think should be sustaining the star against collapse actually attracts more pressure, at high enough pressures, and contributes to collapse
