If x + 3 = 3x - 1 what is the value of x-1 ?

Answer: x=2.5, and x-1=1.5

Explanation:

x + 3 = 3x - 1

(-x)= 3 = 2x - 1

(÷2) = 1.5 = x - 1

(+1)= 2.5 = x
