7 ( 7 + 5r ) = 7 ( 7 + 6r )

First use the ditributive property of multiplication -

49 + 35r = 49 + 42r

Subtract 35r from both sides -

49 = 49 + 7r

Subtract 49 from both sides -

0 = 7r

r = 0
