There are two forms of chemical equations

Ion equation: written in ion form (as separated ions) which forms the net ionic equation after removing an ion spectator

Molecular equation: written in molecular form

2AgNO₃(aq) + H₂S(aq) ⇒ Ag₂S(s) + 2HNO₃(aq)

The above reaction can be included in a double replacement reaction⇒ an ion exchange between two ion compounds in the reactant to form two new ion compounds in the product

It can be shown the existence of the precipitation reaction, which is the formation of insoluble Ag₂S (not dissolve)
