Ashley is going to rent a truck for one day. There are two companies she can choose from, and they have the following prices.

Company A charges $77 and allows unlimited mileage.
Company B has an initial fee of $65 and charges an additional $0.80 for every mile driven.
For what mileages will Company A charge less than Company B?
Use m for the number of miles driven, and solve your inequality for m.

Answer:

Anything above 15 miles, so x>15

Explanation:

When you solve this by using an equation, you would get 77=65+0.80m (0.80 m because slope is 0.80 and m is mileage you multiply by). You would subtract 64 from both sides, so 12=0.80m and then you divide 0.80 by 12 to get m by itself to get 15. 15 miles is when both companies cost the same, so anything above 15.
