A circuit has three resistors (12 omega,25 omega, and 62 omega) connected in series. the potential difference across the 12 - omega resistor is 4. 4v. what is the potential difference across (a) the 25-omega resistor and (b) the 62-omega resistor ?

Answer:

Since the resistors are in series, all of them carry the same current I.

if the potential drop across the 12 Ω is 4 V

I = 4 / 12 = 1/3 = .333 amp

a) 25 Ω * .333 amp = 8.33 V

b) 62 V * .333 amp = 20.7 V
