Complete combustion of Hydrocarbons with Oxygen will produce CO₂ and H₂O

Combustion of butane (C₄H₁₀) :

\tt 2C_4H_(10)+26O_2\rightarrow 8CO_2+10H_2O

2.46 g water(H₂O) were produced

  • mol of water

\tt (2.46)/(18)=0.137

  • mol of butane

\tt (2)/(10)* 0.137=0.0274

  • mass of butane

MW : 58,12 g/mol

\tt mass=mol* MW\\\\mass=0.0274* 58.12\\\\mass=\boxed{\bold{1.592~g}}
