Read the quote below. Why do you think people continue to celebrate their country’s fight for independence so many years later? Do you think it is important to celebrate your country’s independence? Why or why not?

“At the core of Mexican patriotism is Hidalgo's Grito de Dolores. Every year, on the night of September 15-16, the President of the Republic "reenacts" the Grito on a balcony of the National Palace as the climax of the Independence Day celebrations.” (McKeehan,Wallace L)

Answer:

i feel that celebrating your country's independance is important because if your country did not fight for independance, you would be ruled by a different government or nation. sometimes it can be a tryrany that ruled your country and it is also important to celebrate your country's independance because of all the soliders that died during the war in which they tried getting their independance
