multiply out the bracket and you get:
(3/4 x 4)- 3/4 *1 = 1/3
- 2/3x +5
3 - 3/4 = 4 2/3 - 2/3 x
2 1/4 - 4 2/3 = -2/3 x
9/4 - 14/3 = -2/3 x
27/12 - 56/12 = -8/12 x
-29/12 = -8/12 x
X = 29/12 * 12/8
x= 3 5/8
