In the 1500s, how did the Church of England differ from the Catholic Church

I do not remember too much from 7th Grade World History, but I believe that the Angelicin Church (Church of England) was different from the Catholic Church because of the leader for both. The king ruled the Church of England while the pope ruled the Catholic Church. The Church of England also wanted to be different from the Catholic Church, and there was the reformation as well as Protestantism. I hope this helps!
