5. A square on the coordinate plane has vertices

at A(-3,0), B(1, 2), C(2,-1), and D(-2,-4). After a
dilation using a scale factor of 3, what are the

Answer: (-6, -12)

Reason:

Multiply each coordinate of D(-2,-4) by the scale factor 3 to get (-6, -12)

In other words, triple each coordinate of point D.

This trick only works if the center of dilatioin is the origin.
