Answer:

move 2x over the equal sign do the same for seven so that the equation reads 5x - 2x = -2 - 7 so it will be 3x = -9 divide both sides by 3 x= -3

5x+7=2x-2\\5x+7-2x+2=0\\3x+9=0\\3x=-9\\x=(-9)/(3) \\x=-3

Thus, x = -3

[ Check ]

Substitute x = -3 in the equation

5(-3)+7=2(-3)-2\\-15+7=-6-2\\-8=-8

The equation is true so the answer is x = -3 #
