d = \sqrt{ {x2 - x1)}^(2) + {(y2 - y1)}^(2) }

Put all values.


d = \sqrt{( {0 - 6)}^(2) + ( { - 6 - 2)}^(2) }

Simplify it to get answer.


d = \sqrt{ {( - 6)}^(2) + {( - 8)}^(2) }


d = √(36 + 64)


d = √(100)


d = 10

Therefore the distance between two points is 10 units.
