There are 9 water bottles in the refrigerator. I add 3 full boxes of water bottles to the refrigerator. Then i had two more boxes that each had 1 fewer bottle then the full box. Now that i'm done there's 67 bottles. What equation would find the number of bottles in a full box

suppose there are 9 water bottles in the refrigerator,

and 3 full boxes of water are being added, we do not know the total number of bottles in a box, so let's represent it by b

i.e. 3b

However, two more boxes are being added which had 1 fewer bottle than the full box.

i.e. 2(b-1)

Now to determine the number of bottles in a full box, we have:

9 + 3b +2(b-1) = 67

9 + 3b + 2b - 2 = 67

5b + 7 = 67

5b = 67 - 7

5b = 60

b = 60/5

b = 12

Hence, there are twelve 12 bottles in one full box.
