Answer: Self-esteem is the subjective evaluation of an individual's confidence in his or her worth and abilities. Self-esteem can also be viewed as one's self-regard. There are various factors which can affect one's self-esteem. Social experiences like receiving compliments or criticisms from family members or strangers have significant effects to one's self-esteem.
