Which is not a correct way to represent the relation "the second number is 1 less than three times the first number"?

A) y = 3 x + (-1)

B) y = -1 + 3 x

C) y = 3 x - 1

A would have worked because it is in the correct order.

B is correct as well because the numbers would also equal the same value.

C would also be right because it has the same value as A and B does.

D would not be a way to represent it because if you were to find the equation (use a subsitue value for x,) you would not have gotton the same value as you would have with A, B, and C, if you used the same value for x.
