Jamie purchased a DVD that was on sale for 15% off. The sales tax in her county is 5%. Let y represent the original price of the DVD. Write an expression that can be used to determine the final cost of the DVD. (4 points)

2. 0.05(0.85y)
3. y − 0.85y + 0.05y

take off 15% from y which will leave you with 85% left -> (0.85y)

then you have to find 5% from the discounted price and add it to the original price 1.05(8.5y) the 1 will give you your original price while the .05 will add on your tax.
