PLEASE HELP!!

what happens from the perspective of the molecules as you heat a solid through the states of matter all the way to gas?

The intermolecular forces will become weaker as you heat it up. The molecules are closest to each other at a solid state so the intermolecular force is strong. As the phase changes, the intermolecular forces between molecules decreases. Gas has the weakest intermolecular force.
