2 kg of water and 2 kg of Copper are cooled from same temperature to the same temperature. Why does the water cool more slowly than the Copper?

Answer:

Water has higher specific heat capacity compared to copper. This means that water needs to absorb more heat energy to increase it's temperature by 1 °C. Therefore, water needs longer time to release heat energy due to higher amount of heat energy stored inside the water.
